Admissions Policy

It is the policy of the Loudonville Christian School to admit children of *Christian families who exhibit normal academic ability, satisfactory academic achievement, emotional stability, positive social behavior, and good moral character. Although admission opportunity is consistent with the school's policy on nondiscrimination, children will be admitted to the school only after their parents have affirmed that they have read the Statement of Faith, Objective and Philosophy, Vision and Mission, and at least one agrees with the School's policies and to have his/her children educated according to them.

The Principal will be responsible to carry out the admissions policies established by the School Board. Decisions of the Principal with approval by the Headmaster regarding admission to the school will be considered binding, except for when an exception to the policy is sought. Parents may appeal decisions to the School Board, or its delegate, by written request.

Each family seeking admission to Loudonville Christian School will be interviewed by the Principal. Both parents, if possible, as well as the student(s) making application will be required to attend the interview.

Academic ability will be determined by objective testing. Academic achievement will be determined by achievement testing and the current school record. Emotional stability, positive social behavior, and wholesome moral character will be determined by the interview and references. In the case of admission of students to Kindergarten, the school will administer an individualized developmental screening test.

Priorities in the admissions process will be the following:

  1. Siblings of current LCS students

  2. Children of members of, or active participants in, the Loudonville Community Church and children of LCS faculty and staff members

  3. Children of LCS alumni

  4. Brothers and sisters of LCS graduates

  5. All other applicants in order of application for admission

  6. After April 1, no priorities exist and applicants are taken in order of application for admission

Loudonville Christian School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school administered programs.

*Only the School Board, upon request for an exception and recommendation by the Headmaster, may consider making an exception to this policy. The exception consideration must be made in light of the approved vision.
