Academics
Academics - Elementary - Homework
Teachers may regularly assign reasonable homework in every academic subject, starting in Grade Two. The amount of homework increases with the age and grade level of the child. Each child's ability and maturity will affect the time that he or she requires to complete the homework.
Teachers will set aside time during the class period to clearly assign the homework. At times, students may also be able to begin their homework under supervision.
In general the limits for homework are:
- Kindergarten 15 minutes (review verses)
- Grade One 15 minutes (review work)
- Grade Two and Three 30 minutes
- Grades Four to Five 60 minutes
- Grades Six 120 minutes
Parents: Loudonville Christian School encourages you to communicate with the teacher(s) whenver you find that your child requires more time than this to complete the homework, or if you feel that he or she is being given too much to do. Our teachers will be happy to work with you to identify the reasons for the apparent inequity.
