Academics - Secondary - Homework

Teachers may regularly assign reasonable homework in every academic subject, starting in Grade 2. The amount of homework increases with the age and grade level of the child. Each child's ability and maturity will affect the time that he or she requires to complete the homework.

Teachers will set aside time during the class period to clearly assign the homework. At times, students will have an opportunity to being their homework under supervision.

In general, the time for homework in the secondary school is approximately 120 minutes. Parents are encouraged to communicate with the teacher(s) if they find that their child requires more time than this to complete the homework. and feel that he or she is being given too much to do. Our teachers will be happy to work with you to identify the reasons for the apparent inequity.

Homework and assignments are due on the date and at the hour assigned. Students will be penalize for turning in work late, unless the teacher has granted an extension.
