Spiritual Life

Students worship at Fall Retreat

“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Hebrews 10:35-36

We want to train and graduate students to be world-changers for the Kingdom of God. We want to encourage students to be willing to go and do whatever the Lord requests of them. Loudonville Christian School wants to be known for training missionaries for all fields and regions of God’s world. We challenge our students to be radical for Christ. At a time when the world offers competing values, students need a foundation that is firmly established in God’s Word.

Loudonville Christian School is intentional about its faith. The “Christian” in LCS exists in more than name only. Effective spiritual ministry does not happen haphazardly. It is not an accident. It is part of a conscientious effort to live out our mission of giving students an “evangelical view of God and the world” (LCS mission statement).

Loudonville Christian School serves its students and their families from over 70 local churches.  We do this by providing regular times for worship, Bible study, prayer, biblical integration and service.  Student leadership is encouraged, especially in the high school where students speak in chapel, lead worship and facilitate prayer and Bible study sessions.

Both students and staff share their love for God and for others in a variety of ways.  Following is a partial list of some of the ministries, organizations and individuals that Loudonville Christian School served in 2007-08:

JC Club, Albany City Mission, Ronald McDonald House, Habitat For Humanity, Regional Food Bank, Jezreel, Military Moms in Action, Alpha Care Center, Alight Care Center, Loudon Home for Adults, World Vision, Operation Christmas Child, IAM missions, LCC Widows, Dr. Siemens, hat and mitten collection for the Capital City Rescue Mission, Schenectady City Mission, Provisions Community Food and Storehouse, provided uniforms for school children in Ghana, toy collection and gift wrapping for inner city children, Albany and Schenectady Salvation Army, Veterans Administration Hospital, LCC grounds, Arbor Hill Elementary, P.S. 45 in the Bronx, and Camp Pinnacle…

Spiritual development plans for the 2008-2009 school year include the following:

*The Juniors are serving at the JC Club (Jesus Christ Club-Children’s feeding center), have started a Love 146 club that combats child slavery, are supporting breast cancer research, and spend time with 4th graders from the Arbor Hill Elementary School.

* The Sophomores are adopting a highway (a two mile stretch in front of the school), serving at the Capital City Rescue Mission and at the JC Club.

*The Freshman will be working with the JC Club and visiting elementary students at P.S. 45 in the Bronx.

  • Students in grades Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade will collect hats and mittens for the Capital City Rescue Mission.

Please continue to pray as our young people strive to serve the Lord.

  • That students would continue to step into leadership roles and organize prayer and fast times, witness events and service opportunities.

  • That the gospel of forgiveness would penetrate and saturate our public schools and that God would use LCS faculty and students in this revival.

  • That God speaks to and through our kids in their participation in their local church/youth groups.

  • That Satan would be unable to snatch away or destroy the work that God is doing in the lives of individuals.

Current Needs:

          * We have a need for a junior high worship leader.

Galatians 6:10
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
