At Loudonville Christian School (LCS) we believe that a pillar of education is teaching young people the value of serving. Each year our entire student body of Pre-K through 12th grade students devotes over 7,000 hours to serving our local community. To further reflect the priority we place on service, we have a Serve-A-Thon once a year where the students are sponsored for their day of service. The Serve-A-Thon, a one-day community service fundraiser, is an extension of the ministry days we participate in throughout the year.
This year we are honored to partner with Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (TRIP) for our Serve-A-Thon. On Friday, June 1st, all 7th though 12th graders (approximately 132 students) will serve in the Hillside North neighborhood in Lansingburgh. Groups of students will pick up garbage, rake, plant flowers, paint at a neighborhood School, work on park beautification, and other needed projects.
The LCS Serve-A-Thon is a multipurpose event. It allows our students to demonstrate their joy of serving, gives LCS an opportunity to give back to our community, and is one of our school’s largest fundraisers. Our students seek sponsors from among their family and friends.
